I have been teaching in some capacity for the past 24 years. I have taught all grades from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and I have enjoyed them all.

Twenty-four years ago, I started my teaching career working with high school students in Maryland. After being in Maryland for many years and missing South Carolina, my husband and I decided to move back South.

While in South Carolina, I began working with upper elementary students in grades 3 through 5. I taught the same group of students for several years, and then moved with them to the middle school. I stayed with those students for a few more years until I decided that I needed to work closer to where my children attended school.

This move landed me back in high school again! I worked for many years at this new high school, until my family moved to Georgia.

Why the change???

My husband got a new job in Douglasville, Ga. So here I am, back teaching elementary students again. I LOVE IT!!!

I am now starting my ninth year at Arbor Station. I am really happy to be at such a GREAT elementary school.

I am looking forward to another great year!!!

Have a wonderful year,

Ms. Gilbert
