Subjects Taught

B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting, San Diego State University ~ 1986

Master of Arts in Reading, Nova Southeastern University ~ 2006

Educational Specialist, Lincoln Memorial University ~ 2008.

After working in public and private accounting for approximately 12 years, I received certification in Early Childhood Education and began working in 2001.  I began my teaching career part time and then became full time at South Douglas Elementary School.  I taught third grade for each of the seven years I was there.  After that, I transferred to Bright Star Elementary School, and taught fifth grade and kindergarten there.  I believe that deciding to teach is one of the best decisions I have ever made because it provides the opportunity to work with the future (instead of the past, as accounting did).

I am really excited to be part of the Arbor Station kindergarten team!  I sincerely enjoy teaching, and I wish to instill a lifelong love of learning in every student.  I look forward to a terrific year working with you and your child!

I was born in Miami, Florida and lived there until I was five years old.  Since that time, my family moved frequently between Florida, Georgia, and Michigan.   I attended high school in Orange County, California, and then moved to San Diego to attend college.    We really enjoy living in the South!
