B.A. in Elementary Education, Stetson University, DeLand, FL, 1993

Gifted Certification, 2010

I taught grades 4 and 5 at Michigan Avenue Elementary in St. Cloud, FL from January 1994-June 1996. I taught grades 2 and 3 (I "looped" with my students) at Montgomery Elementary in Dunwoody, GA from September 1996-June 1998.  I taught 4th grade at Arbor Station Elementary (ASES) from August 2008-May 2012.  In August of 2012, I began the year teaching 1st grade and 3rd grade Program Challenge (PC) at ASES and 1st grade PC at Holly Springs Elementary.  In December of that same year, I began teaching PC at ASES exclusively.  I have taught different combinations (it varies from year to year) of Kindergarten-5th grade PC and enrichment at ASES ever since.  I am also one of the sponsors of the Junior Beta Club.

As an Air Force brat, I lived in several different states while I was growing up (NJ, OK, CA, NY, SC, IL, AL, and VA).  After graduating from high school in Fairfax, Virginia, I went to Stetson University in DeLand, Florida.  Upon graduating from Stetson, I began my teaching career in St. Cloud, FL (see "experience").  I moved to Georgia 22 years ago, after my husband and I got married.  I continued teaching (in Dunwoody) until I had my first child in 1998.  My husband and I have one son in the IB program at DCHS and one son at UGA.  Prior to my return to teaching 10 years ago, I spent much of my time here at ASES volunteering and helping with the PTSO.
