Bio

I was born in Alliance, Ohio.  When I was in sixth grade I moved to Georgia.  I had to leave all my friends in Ohio, and I was miserable.  I didn't like the idea of starting over.  I enrolled at Stewart Middle School.  This is where I first encountered factors that would influence me to become a teacher.  My teachers inspired me to do my best.  I had to work hard to get good grades, as reading and math did not come easily to me.

Sports were my passion, and it was through my involvement in sports that I learned many life lessons.  I learned about hard work, perseverance, and believing in myself.  My hard work and passion for sports continued through high school.  Finally I was ready to graduate, and I needed to decide what I was going to do with my life.  My future wife was going to college, and I was still unsure whether college was the right choice for me.  One day, one of my PE teachers began talking to me about my plans for the future.  She said I would be a great teacher and should consider getting into education.  Once I had decided to give college a try, the first obstacle was money.  I had to work to pay for college one quarter at a time.  The closer I got to the end of my undergraduate work, the more I appreciated the profession I was about to enter.  I was proud to say I was going to be a teacher.

My goal, as a teacher, has been to contribute back to my students the most important lesson I learned from my former teachers: a belief in oneself.  My dedication to my students is a bond that cannot be broken.
