I began my teaching career in 1992. I taught three year olds at a private preschool for 2 years. When my son started kindergarten, I stopped teaching preschool and began substitute teaching at his elementary school. I took a paraprofessional position in third grade and during that year, I decided to pursue my teaching degree. I received my degree in 1999 and began teaching fourth grade at Arbor Station Elementary. I taught fourth grade for two years and was able to move to Kindergarten in 2001. I looped with my class to first grade and then came back to Kindergarten the following year. In 2003 I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for Arbor Station. I have 17 years experience in teaching kindergarten. I have loved every grade level I have had the opportunity to teach, however; kindergarten is where my heart is! I love the excitement of kindergarten. There is nothing better than seeing a student's face light up when they realize they are able to do something they at first thought that they couldn't. That's is what every day in kindergarten is like!

I grew up in Mableton, Georgia. I have been married for 30 years to my high school sweetheart. We have one son who is 28. He is married to a wonderful girl, Whitney. They were married in June, 2014 and we are so happy to have her in our family. We are so excited that we also have our first grandbaby! Avery Grace was born April, 2016. We will be welcoming a new grandbaby this December!
