Arbor Station Physical Education

Meet Toni Arbor Station`s Heart Hero
Meet Toni Arbor Station`s Heart Hero

Welcome to Arbor Station Physical Education Program! Physical Activity is critical to the development and maintenance of good health. The GOAL of Arbor Station's physical education program is to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity.

Meet Toni.... Arbor Station's Heart Hero!

Toni was born with a pretty serious heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). According to the CDC about 1 in every 2518 babies born in the United States each year are born with TOF which is a birth d efect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. Toni had surgery when she was 4 months old. Doctors at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta spent several hours repairing her very tiny heart. Although Toni had to spend twelve days in ICU, her heart was repaired and she made a complete recovery! Doctors say Toni’s outlook is great!

   Fitness Grams:

Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, official Code of Georgia 20-2-777 required each local school district to conduct an annual fitness assessment program for all students in grades 1 to 12 enrolled in Georgia public school physical education classes taught by certified physical education teachers.

Students in grades 1-3 will be familiarized with the fitness gram test and grades 4-5 will be tested and the parents will receive an individual report of the fitness assessments that were done in class. All students in grades 1-5 will have their height and weight measured.
